Michael and Bob,

I understand your concern. We've been asked the same question by
others who are wondering what this is all about and whether Tom's firing
could be justified. Those of us who know Tom find the charge of
insubordination to be unbelievable, and we're happy to assure you that
he's a reputable man. But assurances aren't enough, and we know it. It's
McCarthy-esque of PCL to label Tom without proof because it leaves Tom
vulnerable to imagination and gossip and puts everyone but PCL at a
disadvantage. That's why the Friends of Tom O'Donnell are asking PCL to
substantiate its charge. If he was insubordinate, they should have
proof. An organization that serves the community needs to be accountable
to the community. By supporting the Friends, you're advocating for a
process that's open, responsible, and fair.

Julie

On Fri, Mar 1, 2013 at 1:38 PM, Michael McGlynn <mmcglynn@gmail.com> wrote:
It may be the case that pending due process he has chosen or been advised to remain silent, but it would inform the discussion to hear some basic facts. I would hate to be in the position of advocating for someone if they've done something indefensible.
