First come, first serve!

This table has a butcher-block top 1.75 inches thick. It is 30 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 60 inches long. The trestle support is made from seven pieces of solid oak about 1.8 inches thick, with a beautiful grain. We bought it several decades ago from Jesse Graham on Hope Street. (Anyone remember him?)

OK, so why are we giving this beautiful table away? We are rearranging our kitchen, and there will be less space for a table. Also, the top needs refinishing, and one side the trestle support needs tightening up against the top.

And here's the big thing: a long time ago someone else carelessly left a heat lamp in a metal reflector on the table top while we were away, and the heat from the light bulb burned its way through the entire top before that person remembered it and came back to check. (Talk about your close calls! Phew!) One corner, therefore, has a charred circle about 9.5 inches in diameter, in the center of which is a hole about 6 inches in diameter that goes all the way through the top. (We keep a decorative round tray over the hole.) Perhaps some handy person could replace the charred corner, or perhaps convert it into a sunken holder for a large plant, or just keep on covering it with a tray or plate.
