These lists operate as a service to the neighborhood, sponsored by SNA.<br>
If there is a policy, it is mostly common sense "netiquette."<br>

The Market list was created for a plurality of subscribers who, at the<br>
time, did not want to view commercial or classified posts, and felt they<br>
should be on a separate list.<br>
<br>
My rule of thumb is that if you are selling something, promoting your<br>
business, or in some other way seeking to advance yourself financially<br>
through the post, then it probably belongs on the Market list.<br>
I occasionally send private emails to individuals who posts seem to be<br>
on the wrong list.<br>
<br>
This "rule" originated with list subscribers.  If the list's current<br>
subscribers wish to recombine the lists, or split them further, I'll<br>
happily oblige.<br>
