<p>I'd encourage you to consider saving, rather than replacing, your existing windows. Old wood windows can be removed, stripped of lead paint, and re-installed. Combined with a good storm window, a historic wood window will achieve energy efficiency roughly
the same as a replacement window, and will last longer. Restoring a window will also keep it out of the landfill, and original windows add a lot to the architectural character of a house.
