Dear Summit Neighbors,

I am sending this especially for those of you who
may have pets yourselves and are interested in
protecting pets from the harmful effects of
common chemicals.

First, we want to let you know that on August 11,
TIP produced a segment of RI Soapbox, the local cable
access TV show, called,“Protecting Our Pets”.
(See outline below). If you wish to view the show,
it will be aired again this Saturday, September 17,
at 2 p.m. on cable channel 13.

Second, we have had some interest from those we talked
with at last weekend’s HealthFit Expo in info about
holistic veterinarians in Rhode Island. Therefore,
we are including a list of the ones we know about.
If you are aware of others, please let us know – and
if you have any comments on your experiences with any,
that could be useful to other pet owners.

Finally, we want your input on how we can be helpful to
you in providing information and answering questions.
We also are anxious to get the word out to those who are
unaware of the risks to their pets from toxic chemicals
such as lawn pesticides, flea products, household chemicals.
Is there any interest in having a Protecting Pets group,
either on-line or meeting occasionally? Can you assist in
getting informational materials out to pet owners, possibly
through veterinarian’s offices, pet shops, local retailers
that allow notices to be posted, libraries?

So far, at our booth and elsewhere we have personally heard
about 22 instances of pets dying or becoming seriously ill
from lawn pesticides alone. We want to educate the public
and avoid more deaths and injury. Please send us your
thoughts on this!

Blessings,

Liberty G
