I agree with Anne - and for additional reasons
beyond danger from speeding cars.

I spoke some time ago with the former
employee of a large lawn service company.
As customer service representative, he said
that over half his job was to retrieve dead
animals from people's yards, and negotiate
with homeowners for compensation.

The chemicals applied to lawns are deadly
to animals - and associated with many chronic
and serious health conditions for humans,
especially children.

For more information on the risks, the chemicals,
and on healthier alternatives, see:

This is so sad. I plead with any of you who let your pet cats
outdoors: Please don't! In the nine years that we lived close to
Hope Street, I saw more dead kitties than I can now count. My son
witnessed a neighbor's pet actually get killed by a car on Hope St.
one evening. It was very traumatic. The cat's body was basically
destroyed. :-(

The city is not a safe playground for cats.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.
