[Summit] Overnight parking

I have three grown sons who come back to visit. I can assure you that calling overnight parking is no small chore. You can't call before 10 -- it used to be 11 -- so it's easy to forget. The cops are rude to you. We've been ticketed even though we did call. This summer one son got married, so the kids were here a lot, and the cops suddenly made a rule that you couldn't call them more than so many times in a month. It's a huge pain. I'm so encouraged that this list seems to be reaching a consensus that we can take to the City Council. The parking ban is way more trouble and added parking ugliness than it's worth.

To all concerned about parking cars overnight:
Overnight guests may park their cars on the street overnight by calling the Providence Police Hdgts., stating that you have guests who need to park overnight, the location and car license number.
I have done this often. I usually attach a sign stating "Guest" and house address to the windshield.
This seems simple enough. I've never had a problem with being tagged.
Try it.
