[Summit] snow plowing

Dear Summit Neighbors,

I am interested in collecting information about snow plowing in our
neighborhood. As of 11:30 tonight, it appears that no plowing has
been done on 12th Street. Ours is a minor, one block street, and I
understand that keeping main thoroughfares open is a priority.
Nonetheless, I think that no plowing since the snow started falling
at 2:00 p.m. is insufficient.

My understanding is that the city trucks do not do all the plowing,
and private contractors are paid to do much of it. I just watched
two plow trucks go up 12th with their plows raised. Perhaps they are
not under contract to the City, but I confess I wondered why they
were not plowing.

I would appreciate it if you could send a note about when, and how
often your street was plowed during today's storm. Off-list is fine,
but perhaps it would be useful for all of us to hear from others
about what is going on.

If the information suggests that Summit is not being well-served in
this regard, I intend to forward it to our Council member, Kevin
Jackson, and other appropriate city officials.

Thanks,
Tom
