There were, at one time, boundaries in the SNA charter, but the board
removed them. Even then, they extended beyond the Hope Neighborhood,
both to the east and south. Today we are deliberately vague about what
constitutes Summit. We welcome neighbors who live near and share our
concerns. We have generally had good relations with adjacent neighborhood
groups, including those whose territory we overlap.
The Hope neighborhood is bounded by the Pawtucket line, I95, the North
Burial Ground, Rochambeau and Hope Street. I'm sure most of us agree
that our neighborhood spills across Hope Street and Rochambeau, at least
a few blocks. I think most of us also agree that we can't really lay
claim to people south of Cypress or east of Elmgrove. Between those
lines, it's an ongoing debate.
