Crime.
Muggings burglaries and rapes are terrible indeed. Perfectly
understandable to seek solutions technological or otherwise.
Keep it in perspective ('cos TV news sure won't do it for you)-
The costs we all bear from polluters and all the other "white collar"
criminals, not to mention crime so well organized it was made legal,
like RISDIC, and the latest heads-we-win-tails-everybody-loses banking
games, DWARF what we lose to petty criminals. Most of the petty crime
does not even happen in places like Summit anyway.
In UK people are vandalizing the surveillance cameras.
I'd rather take my chances in an open society that respects my privacy
than live where I consider the entire system to be a crime, but it
looks like I won't be getting my druthers for a while.
