The entire article presents a rare look into the 
real legislative process but still doesn't answer 
what is, to my mind, the key question: Why do lobbyists have such power?

Was Goldberg's objection legit, or a convenient 
excuse to allow Fox & Co to kill the bill? I don't know.

I certainly believe that the full story of Fox's 
activities related to the $10,000 ethics fine he 
paid a few years ago has never been told.
