[Summit] Fountain, trees and leadership in the community

Your  opinion is taken---and we are ALL entitled  to an opinion.  To my way 
of thinking...there was a failure to communicate  amongst the Parks 
Dept.and the various different organizations,  and  the SNA or Save the Fountain 
groups are still being put on the chopping  block--It is what it is--so CAN WE 
OVE ON - as a community, and  work  (hopefully) together in harmoney?..

Why  couldn't these neighborhood organizations have reflected the real 
feeling of  the neighborhood?  Or at least responded reasonably to those of us 
who  had concerns.  I wrote on this site weeks ago, suggesting the  trees 
should not come down.  This was the response (s):

people  like you should come when the project is done and see that it was 
worth it  (ends justify means)

who are you to object - this project needs to go  ahead!!!!

Then there was the article in the paper before last week's  meeting - here 
George, the president of SNA justified taking down the  trees!!!

These neighborhood organizations are not reflective or acting  on the 
neighborhoods behalf.  

They bought into something that  wasn't necessary and were then dismissive. 
 What's wrong here?  Why  can't these board members and people who lead 
these organizations be more open  to the community and less obsessed with 
projects at any costs - when the cost  (tree cutting) wasn't  real!!!!!
