[Summit] MLK School Garden Request

The Parent Teachers Organization at Martin Luther King School (one of two East Side Schools) has made significant improvements to the campus grounds in recent years.  This includes a new perennial garden in the front of the building and an outdoor classroom garden.  These areas are maintained by the MLK students and dedicated parent and community volunteers.  Please stop by any time to visit MLK School and see the great work of our community (both inside and outside the building).
 
How can you help?
We are looking for donations of garden tools (new or used) that can be used to maintain the garden.  We can use rakes, hoes, hand tools, etc.  Since tools are used by or near children, we prefer non-power tools.  If you have tools to donate, please reply to this email or drop them by 135 Camp Street, home of our PTO vice-President.  Feel free to leave donations on the porch.  If you have a green thumb, you can also join us for a grounds clean up day on Saturday, August 21 beginning at 9:00 a.m.  We will be there for a good part of the day, so please join us at any time.
