Dear SNA neighbors & friends,

I apologize for sending this (and so late), but I thought the topic well
worth while. I had an e-mail exchange w/ the director, who told me an rsvp
was not imperative.

I would like to start a list that discusses solar and alternative energy
projects that are doable within our neighborhood and the city. Please
e-mail me if you are interested. I'm especially hoping a few people w/
working knowledge of the latest technologies will consider joining this
discussion/action group.

best regards,
Paul

Have you heard? 2011 appears to be the year for major renewable energy
legislation for Rhode Island. At this year's annual meeting, we'll showcase
new renewables policymaking in Rhode Island from our champions at the
statehouse.

*State Rep. Deborah Ruggiero**,* Chair of the House Small Business Renewable
Energy Task Force has been working diligently to develop new policies that
will make small-scale, land-based renewable energy properly incentivized to
compete with traditional sources of electricity, while keeping an eye on
doing it at the lowest cost to current ratepayers. With her task force,
she's also author of a bill to coordinate state agency efforts with a
renewable energy council. She will speak about the current efforts to
upgrade renewable energy policy in the state.

Long-time renewable energy lawmaker *Sen. Josh Miller* has been our champion
of net metering legislation in the Senate, and is also sponsoring the
Distributed Generation Standard Contracts bill there. People's Power & Light
has been advocating for the new bill and others in a comprehensive renewable
energy agenda alongside other sustainable energy advocates, community
renewable energy generators and developers.

*Please RSVP by May 26 to
ppl at classic-communications.com.<ppl at classic-communications.com>We look
forward to seeing you!
*

Sincerely,

I have a date of June 4 for the fountain dedication. Is this correct? But I do not have a time for that date. So if someone would confirm time and date that would be great... e
