[Summit] Zip Car

I'm a fan of Zipcar as well. I didn't expect I'd continue to use it when I
moved here from Boston, but I've also found it handy for Craigslist/Ikea
runs, etc.
It would probably help Zipcar HQ if we can come up with some plausible use
cases and reasons why this is a good neighborhood for them. Presumably,
they've already done some of their own analysis and this area is not on the
initial list.
Do we have any any stats on neighborhood demographics? (average age, income,
number of students, proportion of renters to owners, etc.)
Other points include:
- Providence parking bands limit many families to only one car. A Zipcar
with its own off-street parking space could be a good workaround for many
who are on the fence about a 2nd car
- Zipcars have to be in locations people can walk/bike or take public
transit to get to them. The neighborhood is served by 2-3 bus lines (N.
Main, Hope, Butler) that could ferry people to the Zipcars and is also near
the Blackstone bike path.
Locations I would suggest include Lippitt Park (can cross-promote with
Farmers' Market, the lot near Garden Grille and the high foot traffic area
between the library and 7 stars.
