[Summit] mail and alternate side of the street

Decades of housing construction would be needed before the population
density of Summit came near that of New York City, where drivers
jockey and idle in lines to the annoyance of the car-free majority.
Gasoline, and any of us who are not young, will be history by then.
NYC tells us nothing about the likelihood of negative consequences
"even for those who don't have a car parked on the street" in
Providence's here and now.
If you are concerned about the plight of neighbors who may have to
endure the "ball and chain" of alternate side, on street parking,
please tell me how the overnight parking ban helps them.
The standing to complain in how ever many words, "there are too many
cars" really belongs only to people who do not have a car.
