Anyone interested in voicing an opinion one way or the other can do so at
tomorrow's City Council meeting.  Third floor of City Hall in the Council
Chambers.  6:45pm, I believe.

Hi neighbors,

If you are a homeowner who objects to the proposed tax increase, please attend the City Council hearing on the matter TONIGHT, THURSDAY, JUNE 5 at 7pm. The council has not given the public the required two public hearings - we are just getting this one shot.?

From a different listserve:

Thursday, June 5th at 7pm
25 Dorrance Street, 3rd floor

At this meeting, the council will vote (for the second time) on an
ordinance to reduce taxes on rental properties, while increasing the
rates on owner-occupied homes by up to 5%. ?(Agenda attached)
I've been informed that the Providence Apartment Association has urged
all rental property owners to show up at the City Council meeting tomorrow evening to show their support for the proposed legislation.

If you're concerned about this issue, please try to attend the meeting so we can present a collective voice from the homeowner perspective. ?The PAA is asking their members to show up at 6:45 pm, so if you can make it there earlier than that to ensure entry, please do so.

Further information:
Providence City Council may cut taxes for rental property owners

Providence City Council may cut taxes for rental propert...
Critics want a public hearing to discuss fiscal impact on the city before the council votes.

I would advise getting there early or there may not be a space in the room.
