Subject: Mayor's Ambassador Program
Dear Providence Community Leaders;
Last week, Mayor Elorza announced an exciting new program to connect
residents to resources and programs that will help Providence become a
greener, healthier, more livable city. As part of the SustainPVD
<http://providenceri.com/sustainability/about-the-plan> initiative, the
Office of Sustainability seeks to recruit and train approximately 30
volunteer ambassadors to conduct grassroots outreach from August to
November. Roughly half of these Ambassadors will focus on energy efficiency,
while the other half will address recycling in three pilot neighborhoods:
Elmhurst, West End, and Elmwood. In exchange for their service, SustainPVD
Ambassadors will receive the following:
· A training from the City's Director of Sustainability and Community
Relations
· Sustainable Providence Ambassador swag and outreach materials
· A tour of the central landfill and recycling facility
· Network and connect with other community leaders in Providence
· Meet the Mayor, and more!
I am specifically reaching out to you because you have been recommended as
an ideal candidate for the program. You don¹t need to be an expert in
sustainability; we are seeking residents who can connect with other
residents and gather input, ideas, and feedback. By serving as an
ambassador, not only will you be helping create a stronger, more resilient
community, but you¹ll be helping the city and residents save money and help
the environment. The Mayor has ambitious goals for creating a more
sustainable Providence, but we need your help to engage all residents in
this effort.

your friends and neighbors to apply as well. If you¹d like to learn more
about SustainPVD and stay updated about my office¹s work, please sign up for
our monthly newsletter <http://providenceri.com/sustainability/#newsletter>
and follow us on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/sustainPVD> and Twitter

I look forward to working with you all going forward and please do not
hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Leah Bamberger,
Director of Sustainability
