[Summit] Spam phone calls & very questionable mail behavior

Unfortunately Scientology is still tax exempt. The story about them losing
their tax exempt status was false and you can read about that here.

more robocalls lately but I believe you have to renew your phone number on
government's the Do Not Call Registry

every few years. I've just stopped answering any phone calls from a number
that I do not recognize -- if it's someone I know they leave a message and
I call them right back.  I also do not answer any calls where the number is
hidden or "Unknown" -- it's always a pest phone call.

The Treasury Dept. and IRS phone calls are a big illegal scam right now and
the REAL Treasury & IRS have warned consumers to never give any info or
money to people calling on the phone and claiming to be them. The US Gov't
will ALWAYS notify you via mail and they do not initiate payment of overdue
funds via phone calls. You can report any calls you receive claiming to be
from the IRS & Treasure here.

We had one of those scammer driveway paver guys come by our house last week
with the old story about "We just finished a job down the street and we
have some leftover pavement if you want us to give you a real deal to do
your driveway" kind of thing. They were in an unmarked SUV (no business
title on the car) and there was a guy sitting in the passenger seat wearing
one of those yellow safety jackets, just to make things look legit. I told
him to get out of the neighborhood and that I was going to warn my
neighbors. Remember if anyone comes to your house and rings your doorbell
about doing paving work, it is always a scammer and do not do any business
with them.
