I moved back to the states in 1998 after 17 years abroad. Had had no car the entire time. GEICO was the ONLY company that would insure me because I had no driving record for 17 years. A couple of years ago we did the AARP “we can get you a better price” check, and they couldn’t. We’ve been happy with GEICO.

As far as knob and tube, I think that’s not too unusual. When house-shopping we were told we’d have to replace it if we found it. 

On the other hand, as far as fire hazards, has anyone heard of Verizon FIOS boxes being fire hazards? A friend of mine is having some renovations, and her contractor told her to remove it, us cable instead. Anyone else ever hear this warning?
