Dear neighbor –
PVDFest, Providence’s signature arts festival, is a celebration of community – of all the people, performers, artists, and businesses that make Providence the Creative Capital. Supporting one another in our community is essential as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together.
With that in mind, we have to put the health and safety of our community first. After careful consideration and in light of the rise of COVID cases and hospitalizations, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the major downtown celebration of PVDFest, originally planned for September 25 and 26, 2021.

Although there will be no major celebration, there will still be opportunities to experience PVDFest safely this year!
Smaller PVDFest summer and fall Happenings, as well as PVDFest Ideas programming, continue in outdoor, safety-monitored city-wide settings in the coming weeks. Please note that in light of the delta variant, masks will be strongly recommended to reduce the transmission of this variant. Additionally, masks and hand sanitizer will be available at all PVDFest events.
While we’re disappointed we can’t dance in the streets of downtown once again, we hope you’ll join us for outdoor PVDFest Happenings in the coming weeks! For more information visit PVDFest.com, follow @PVDFest on Twitter, @PVD.Fest on Instagram and like us on Facebook.
For more information on COVID-19 and best practices you can share, residents can visit the City of Providence’s COVID-19 website.
Sincerely,
Jorge O. Elorza
