Wow. Okay, so I should just chalk this up in the nobody cares/lost causes column?

Cooley gets 2 - 6 trucks MAX a day, if that. Unless they’re all coming late at night or early in the morning then I wouldn’t know. There are days when the loading docks are never ever used. But Cooley is a good example of the problems that may occur. Trucks can take 5 - 10 minutes blocking  Moshassuck St. to get backed in - they have to drive over the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street AND onto Microfibres property to negotiate the tight space. Furthermore, trucks delivering into my building frequently block Esten Ave. The truckers are going to quickly learn this and reroute to other streets so they can get through. 

If 10 trucks a day are expected, then I can understand the lack of concern. If 100 trucks a day are hoped for/expected, then that’s a whole ’nother basket of Moshassuck Mussels (commonly found all over town in little blue plastic bags). In order for any of the trucks to get there from 95, they’ll be using Main St., Hope St., Pawtucket Ave. and others. 

I’m actually fine with a trucking center at the location, if I thought the streets were designed to accommodate a high level of large truck traffic. Cities need industrial areas and this one is as good as any. What I object to is poor planning and apparent lack of understanding of the impacts. 

That’s my 2¢.
