Learn about the rich traditions and customs surrounding the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos and similar practices in other cultures, all  while taking part in family activities, a fun-filled procession through the cemetery, community altar offerings and more.

This creative workshop will lead to a group visit to “Seat, or Stand and Speak” and “Cyclorama: The Shape of Things, A Story in Seven Parts,” part of "Varying Shades of Brown" by artist Carrie Mae Weems. Through a variety of mediums and activations, Weems renders historical moments uncanny to draw out the complexities of racial and gendered violence.
