Councilwoman Sue AnderBois and Darlene Allen are planning a "Light up Hope
for Democracy" event on the 21st Wed May 21, 7:30pm, on Hope Street, near
Kreatelier. It'll be a peaceful gathering of neighbors -- no speechifying
or anything. Just gathering in mutual support. Signs welcome, instruments
welcome. Sue will bring candles.

We know that the chaos in DC, including threats to the safety, and
well-being of so many Rhode Islanders, can be overwhelming. It may be hard
to know what to do. True democracy is built from the ground up and
fostering it at the community level strengthens neighborhoods and the
entire nation.

We would like to invite you to come out, connect, and care for each other.
Let’s “Light up Hope for Democracy.” Bring yourself, your family, and your
friends for a peaceful stand out on Hope Street. Let’s join on both sides
of the sidewalks right before dusk on May 21st -- meeting in front of the
part of Hope Street by Kreatelier. You can bring signs. You can sing or
play music. You can come and just be. We will have some candles. We will be
a community that stands together against the chaos. We will shine a light
for democracy.

With kindness,
Ethan
