[Summit] Summit Digest, Vol 251, Issue 19

Our snow shoveler drove down Hops Street today, to see whether he could get
to us (we're on Lauriston St, west of Hope St). He reports that Hope St
has been plowed, but none of the side streets have been opened up yet for
cars to drive on them.
John Gonsavles (councilman for our neighboring ward 1) reported as follows
this morning:
*Given the magnitude of the storm, it will take several more days before we
return to normal operations. .....*
*We ask that everyone remain off the roads unless travel is necessary for
an emergency. Limiting traffic allows plow operators and public safety
teams to do their work more effectively and safely.*
*Today’s priority is residential streets. Our immediate objective is to
clear at least one passable lane on every residential road as quickly as
possible. In the coming days, additional passes will be needed to widen
streets and remove remaining snow to ensure they are fully cleared.*
*The parking ban remains in effect. Trash collection has been postponed
until next week. Overflow bags will be made available for residents who
need them, and we will share more detailed information as it becomes
available.*
So it sounds (to me, at least) like we won't be back to normal even by this
weekend. If your family does come, where will they be allowed to park?
Apparently not on the street in front of your house, not even during the
daytime hours.
