[Summit] Organizational Support for the Less Toxic Landscaping Campaign

Dear Friend,

I’m writing to you because you are 
associated with a group, club or 
organization involved in environmental 
or gardening concerns.

At the Rhode Island Flower & Garden 
Show next week, Toxics Information 
Project (TIP) is launching its 2004 
“Less Toxic Landscaping” Campaign and 
Contest to encourage Rhode Islanders 
to reduce their use of lawn and garden 
pesticides, and to consider creative 
alternatives to lawns.

As part of this effort, we seek the 
support of groups like yours.  We ask 
you to endorse the campaign goals as 
mentioned above, and to participate as 
much as you feel able in helping with 
publicity, distributing informational 
materials, and encouraging people to sign 
the individual pledge we have prepared.  

Please look over the attached campaign 
information, including the organizational 
endorsement form, an outline of plans and 
activities, and a fact sheet on health and
environmental threats from lawn pesticides.  
Then, consider asking your group to become 
a campaign endorser.  If you have any 
questions, please call or E-Mail me and 
I will be happy to answer them.

Also, consider seeking us out at our booth 
at the Flower Show, or attend one of the 
two talks we will be presenting there!
