It's been about a week since these kids descended on our neighborhood
and they've obviously made some sales in addition to making a lot of
people suspicious and angry. The NYTimes article Jeff just circulated
is certainly disturbing, but the young woman who visited us was
either a very good liar or an exception to all the reports of abuse.
(As I told Jeff, I bought from her and have been wondering ever since
about the right and wrong. Also wondering if I'll ever get what I ordered.)
Has anyone heard of a magazine seller attempting to steal anything?
Is it possible the recent housebreaks are by local talent and unrelated?
The true enablers are the publishers who wink at the basic sleaze of
this sales program and take the money.
