Ye Ol' Book Shoppe

When visiting Ye Ol' Book Shoppe on Hope Street, I was pleasantly surprised to learn of its distinctive variety of books and services.

Owner and operator Lauretta A. Girouard chose Hope Street for her business because of its proximity to the library and for the diversity of the neighborhood, which lends itself to customer traffic visiting her store.

Online, Estate Sales

What sets this independent bookstore apart from others, is that they sell both new and used books from their store and online. They also sell books from other stores, or estates, which highlights their broker service.

The environment of this establishment is quite friendly, and Lauretta will sit down and help you locate that special book through her computerized inventory.

Lauretta holds a B.S. degree in management from Rhode Island College. Her prior background was as an information specialist for a global organization. In 2000, she wrote and published a book "POW - Prisoners Of Work." She currently resides outside the Summit neighborhood.

Next time you are waiting for a bus outside her store, just stop in and browse through her wide range of books. They range from philosophy and religion to photography, science and self-help and more. If you don't see the particular book you are looking for "just ask" says Lauretta.

This establishment also carries a variety of gift items, and all at affordable prices. And, oh yes, check out the penny candy counter, mmmm. All are invited to come down and browse at this bookstore that offers so many surprises.
